Bastille Day recipe: Herbs de Provence Cheese Spread

Celebrate the French holiday Bastille Day by serving yourself this yummy herbed “cheese” spread. 

Herbs de Provence

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup vegan butter
  • 8 ounces vegan cream cheese alternative
  • 1 tablespoon herbs de provence
  • 1 French baguette or another bread of your choice, cut at a diagonal into 1/2-inch slices

Directions:

  1. In a food processor, combine butter, cream cheese alternative, and herbs. Blend until smooth.
  2. Transfer to a serving bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to blend the flavors.
  3. Serve with slices of baguette.

  1. What type of vegan cream cheese do you recommend? Or do you have a great recipe? Most of the packaged vegan cream cheeses I’ve tried are quite terrible. I’d love a suggestion so I can find something better. Thanks!
